Karen
Tooley, the owner of History
Tours, has been traveling to and in Europe for more than twenty years,
and she has lived there for several stints, with her husband, Hunt
Tooley. She has amassed a multitude of travel experiences in this
time, from surviving floods on the River Rhine to having a baby (which
she does not recommend, at least for a shorter stay!). She has
been organizing group travel off and on since the late eighties, and
for the last six years, she has assisted numerous college and
highschool teachers in creating exciting study trips. She has
made arrangements for trips to Germany, France, Belgium, Luxembourg,
Italy, the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland, Austria, Australia,
Canada, and the United States (whew!). She is the former owner
of The Tea Room, in Due West, South Carolina, and the author of
The
Tea
Room Cookbook.

Hunt Tooley, who assists Karen when he is not
teaching, is Professor of
History at Austin College, a fine liberal arts college in Sherman,
Texas. He, too, has had much experience in Europe. He has
led
many study trips, ranging from homeschool groups and high school
students to study trips for college students to Austin College Alumni
Trips and other group tours. His historical interests relate to
modern Europe, and among his publications is
The
Western Front: Battleground and Home Front in the First World War,
which came out in 2003. He is especially involved in History
Tours planning when a
military
history tour is afoot. You can, if you are interested, visit
